Yawanawa
The Boar People
The Yawanawa people live on the Indigenous Land of Rio Gregorio, located in the municipality of Tarauaca, Acre, Brazil. It is a territory (demarcated in 1984) of 213,000 hectares, 98% of which is virgin forest. The people are not spared from the current threats that weigh heavily on the Amazon, on the cohesion of the regional and planetary social fabric and on the traditional paths of wisdom. However, they resist. They even adapt, with brilliance, according to the path of their ancestral identity. At the heart of their organizational intelligence reigns spirituality, culture, the art of living: directions for the community, a message for the world.
